STANDARD CONDITIONS OF HIRE
THE HIRER must ensure the orderly conduct of all persons on the premises and due compliance with all fire precautions and health and safety requirements.
THE HIRER will, during the period of the hiring be responsible for supervision of the premises and all furniture and equipment; their care and safety from alteration or damage however slight and the good behaviour of all persons using the premises, whatever their capacity, including proper supervision of car-parking arrangements so as to avoid obstruction of the highway.
3. THE HIRER shall not sub-hire or use the premises, or allow the premises to be used, for any unlawful or immoral purpose or any purpose inappropriate to the nature of the premises or likely to give offence to other users, nor do anything or bring onto the premises anything which may endanger the same or any insurance policies in respect thereof.
4. THE HIRER shall undertake their own risk assessment of the premises before the start of each session and will notify Old Schoolhouse management of any issues that are highlighted.
5. THE HIRER shall have Public Liability Insurance cover for their activity.
6. THE HIRER shall have DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) checks on all staff where appropriate.
7. THE HIRER shall comply with all conditions and regulations made in respect of the premises by the Fire Authority, Local Authority, the Local Magistrates' Court or otherwise particularly in connection with any event which includes public dancing or music or other similar public entertainment or stage plays.
8. THE HIRER shall take such steps as may be necessary to ensure that caterers, or any other persons, supplying or serving refreshments or decorations, remove from the premises all their property by the end of the period of the hiring,
9. THE HIRER shall comply with the provisions of the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 and shall be responsible for obtaining such licences as may be needed from the Performing Right Society or otherwise and for the observance of the same. The Hirer agrees to indemnify the Old Schoolhouse Community Project against any claims arising out of the performance of copyright works on the premises.
10. THE HIRER shall indemnify the Old Schoolhouse Community Project for the cost of repair of any damage done to any part of the premises or the furniture and equipment, which may occur during the period of the hiring or as a result of the hiring.
11. THE HIRER agrees to indemnify the Old Schoolhouse Community Project in respect of any claims arising out of the Hirer's use of the Premises unless due to the act or default of the Old Schoolhouse Community Project or any persons for whom the Old Schoolhouse Community Project is responsible or relating to the loss of or damage to any property brought onto the premises by the Hirer or persons expressly or impliedly authorised by the Hirer.
12. THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE COMMUNITY PROJECT reserves the right for its duly authorised representative to enter the room(s) at all times.
13. IF THE HIRER wishes to cancel the booking before the date of the event the following charges apply –
Part day meeting cancellation 6 -10 days before booked date £ 25.00
Part day meeting cancellation 1 – 5 days before booked date £ 50.00
Full day meeting(6 hrs+) cancellation 6 -10 days before booked date £ 50.00
Full day meeting(6 hrs+) cancellation 1 – 5 days before booked date £100.00
14. AT THE END of the hiring the Hirer shall be responsible for leaving the premises and surrounds in a clean and tidy condition properly locked and secured unless directed otherwise and any contents temporarily removed from their usual positions properly replaced otherwise the Old Schoolhouse Community Project shall be at liberty to make an additional charge.
15. IN THE EVENT of the premises or any part being rendered unfit for the use for which it has been hired the Old Schoolhouse Community Project shall refund the hiring fee and deposit but beyond that shall not be liable to the Hirer for any resulting loss or damage whatsoever.
