At its most basic level, ‘community’ consists of the two elements of ‘people’ and ‘place’. The Old Schoolhouse Project was initiated to provide a place where the potential, and needs of the people living in the area, could be supported, and the development of the community enhanced as a result.

The main aim of the project is to enhance the quality of life for residents within the area by developing a community provision that can offer a place for groups to meet and work, and for activities to take place.

The continuing vision is that of a long-term presence, responsive to local needs, yet operating in a realistic and sustainable fashion that will persist and develop.
